Key Takeaways:
When placing a logo on a sports uniform, it's essential to ensure that the design remains balanced. A logo placed too high or too low can disrupt the uniform's overall look. It's also crucial to consider the uniform's other elements, such as numbers or player names, to ensure that the logo doesn't overshadow them.
The size of the logo should be in proportion to the uniform. A logo that's too large can appear overwhelming, while a small logo might go unnoticed. It's essential to strike the right balance to ensure that the logo is visible without dominating the uniform.
The most common positions for logo placement on sports uniforms are the chest, sleeves, and back. However, the exact position can vary based on the sport and the specific uniform design.
Different sports have specific rules and guidelines for logo placement on uniforms. These rules ensure that the uniforms maintain a consistent look and adhere to the sport's traditions and standards.
In football, team logos are typically placed on the left chest, opposite the kit manufacturer's logo. Sponsor logos can be positioned in the center of the jersey. Some teams also have secondary sponsor logos on the back or sleeves.
Basketball jerseys often feature the team logo on the front center, above or below the player's number. Sponsor logos can be placed on the top left or right shoulder. Some leagues also allow logos on the shorts.
In baseball, team logos are typically placed on the left chest, with the player's number on the back. Some teams also feature a secondary logo on the sleeve.

]]>When it comes to sports uniforms, we often focus on elements like color, design, and fabric. While these are undoubtedly important, there's another crucial factor that tends to be overlooked: sizing. Ill-fitting uniforms can significantly affect a player's performance and comfort level on the field, court, or track. In this blog post, we will discuss why sizing is so important and provide some expert advice on how to measure correctly for different types of sports uniforms.
An ill-fitting uniform can be distracting and uncomfortable, causing athletes to lose focus during crucial moments. Uniforms that are too tight may restrict movement, while those that are too loose could get in the way of athletic performance.
Uniform size affects how efficiently an athlete can move. Properly-sized uniforms are designed to facilitate rather than hinder performance, allowing for optimal range of motion and minimal drag.
Incorrect sizing can also pose safety risks. Loose clothing might get caught in equipment, or too-tight gear could impede blood circulation. Getting the size right is, therefore, not just a matter of comfort but also of safety.
Last but not least, well-fitting uniforms look more professional. They send a message of commitment and discipline, boosting not only the team's morale but also their perception among fans and opponents.
Measuring for sports uniforms is not a one-size-fits-all process; it varies depending on the sport in question. Here are some general guidelines:
Proper sizing in sports uniforms is crucial for comfort, performance, safety, and aesthetics. Taking the time to measure accurately can make a world of difference in how a team performs and feels during the game. So before you rush into ordering your next set of uniforms, make sure to get the size right. Your team's success may very well depend on it.
]]>We often hear the saying, "You are what you wear," but have you ever stopped to consider what the colors of your sports uniform are communicating about your team? The psychology of color is a well-researched field that delves into how different hues can affect our emotions and behavior. This extends to the realm of sports uniforms as well. The color of your jersey can send a powerful message about your team's identity, ethos, and even your gameplay style. Let's dig into the fascinating world of color psychology and how it plays a role in the world of sports uniforms.
Color psychology is the study of how colors can influence human behavior and emotion. Various hues can evoke feelings of warmth, excitement, calmness, or even aggression. In sports, teams leverage color psychology not just for aesthetic appeal but also for its psychological impact—both on the players and the fans. A team's colors can even intimidate opponents or inspire fans, making it a crucial part of the game that extends beyond mere visuals.
Often used by teams to convey passion, energy, and aggression. In sports like basketball and soccer, where quick moves and high energy are the name of the game, red is a popular choice. Teams like Manchester United and the Chicago Bulls utilize red to represent their aggressive playing styles.
Connotes calmness, wisdom, and loyalty. It's a popular choice in sports that require focus and strategy, such as baseball or golf. The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers are classic examples of teams that use blue to symbolize their focus on tradition and strategy.
Associated with balance and growth, green is often used by teams that want to emphasize their connection to community or the environment. It's popular in sports with outdoor settings like soccer and rugby. Teams like the Portland Timbers and the Irish national rugby team use green to signify their roots and heritage.
Black is often associated with authority and power, while white signifies purity and simplicity. Teams like the New Zealand All Blacks in rugby use black to convey their dominance and intimidation factor. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Lakers' white 'Sunday whites' uniforms symbolize tradition and purity.
When choosing a color scheme for your sports uniform, it's essential to consider what you want to communicate about your team. Are you a high-energy team that thrives on aggression? Red might be your color. Is your team's gameplay focused on strategy and finesse? Blue would be an excellent choice.
The colors of your sports uniform are more than just a design choice; they're a statement about your team's identity, values, and approach to the game. By understanding the psychology behind different colors, you can make a more informed decision when it comes to designing your team's uniform. So the next time you find yourself selecting colors for your team, remember, you're doing more than just picking hues—you're defining your team's identity.
]]>The technology behind custom sports jerseys has come a long way. Gone are the days of iron-on numbers and easily-faded designs. Today, sublimation printing is rapidly becoming the go-to method for crafting high-quality, durable custom jerseys that stand the test of time. In this post, we'll dive into what sublimation printing is, why it's superior to traditional methods, and why it's poised to be the future of custom sports jerseys.
Sublimation printing is a digital printing technology that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials like polyester. Unlike traditional screen-printing, which lays ink on the top of the fabric, sublimation ink penetrates and becomes part of the fabric itself. The result? A design that is virtually immune to peeling, cracking, or fading.
As mentioned, the designs are less prone to fading and wear over time. That means your custom jerseys will look fresh and vibrant, game after game and wash after wash.
The digital nature of sublimation printing allows for intricate designs and color gradients that would be difficult to achieve with traditional printing methods. This opens up a world of possibilities in customizing your team's jerseys.
Sublimation printing is more environmentally friendly compared to other methods. It uses water-based inks and produces less waste, making it a sustainable choice.
The process is quicker and more streamlined, making it ideal for bulk orders. Traditional methods, which may require different screens or plates for various colors, can be more time-consuming and labor-intensive.
Whether it's a multi-colored logo, player names, or even photographs, sublimation printing can handle it all. You're only limited by your imagination when it comes to designing your custom jerseys.
Because the process is more streamlined, it often becomes cost-effective when ordering in large quantities. This makes it ideal for schools and leagues looking to maintain high-quality standards while also keeping costs down.
The high-quality output of sublimation printing gives custom jerseys a premium, professional look. When your team looks good, they feel good, and this could very well translate to better performance on the field.
With its myriad benefits, from durability and design flexibility to eco-friendliness and cost-efficiency, it's clear that sublimation printing is setting a new standard in custom sports jerseys. As this technology continues to evolve and become more accessible, we can only expect it to further revolutionize the way teams, schools, and leagues think about their uniforms.
If you're in the market for custom jerseys, consider opting for sublimation printing. Your team will not only look great but also enjoy the long-lasting quality that only this modern technology can offer.
]]>Whether you're a school administrator, a college sports coordinator, or a league manager, you know that uniforms play a critical role in team identity and unity. However, the cost of outfitting an entire team or league can quickly add up, leaving many to search for budget-friendly alternatives. This is where the concept of bulk orders comes into play. Not only do bulk orders make the process more streamlined, but they can also lead to significant cost savings. This blog post serves as a guide to understanding the advantages and the process of placing bulk orders for custom uniforms.
Ordering in bulk often comes with discounted rates. When calculated per jersey, the cost is substantially lower in comparison to individual orders. These savings can be redirected to other essential areas like equipment, training facilities, or travel costs for away games.
When you place a bulk order, you can ensure that every item is consistent in color, design, and quality. This adds to the overall professional appearance of the team and eliminates discrepancies that can occur when orders are placed separately.
Bulk orders usually come with coordinated shipping, reducing the hassle of tracking multiple deliveries. Some companies even offer free shipping for large orders, adding another layer of cost-efficiency.
When you're ordering a large quantity, customization options often become more varied and flexible, allowing for unique designs that can set your team apart from the competition.
Before even contacting a supplier, gather all necessary information like the number of jerseys needed, sizes, and any customization requests like names, numbers, or logos.
Not all companies offer the same quality, options, or discounts. Make sure to read reviews and perhaps even order a sample kit to assess fabric quality and printing standards.
Contact the chosen supplier to request a comprehensive quote. This should include all costs, from production to shipping, so you can have a clear understanding of your total expenditure.
Once the designs are ready, review them meticulously. Make sure they align with your vision for the team's appearance. This is crucial because making changes after approval can be difficult and costly.
After agreeing on the design, you'll usually be required to pay a deposit or the full amount upfront. Confirm your payment and order details, and then await your delivery.
Once the order arrives, inspect the uniforms carefully for quality, correctness of sizes, and customization details. Any discrepancies should be reported immediately.
Ordering custom uniforms in bulk offers a win-win scenario for schools, colleges, and leagues looking to outfit their teams stylishly yet economically. Not only do you save money, but you also ensure uniformity and simplify logistical complexities. So the next time you find yourself responsible for acquiring team jerseys, consider going the bulk route; your budget and your team will thank you.
]]>Ordering custom jerseys for your sports team or corporate event is an exciting endeavor. The anticipation of seeing your unique design come to life is undeniably thrilling. However, excitement can sometimes cloud judgment, leading to common mistakes that can make the experience less than smooth. In this blog post, we'll outline these pitfalls and provide tips on how to avoid them to ensure you get your order right the first time.
How to Avoid: Do not assume that sizing for custom jerseys will be identical to everyday clothing sizes. Always consult the sizing chart provided, and if possible, measure each team member to match them to the appropriate size. Some companies also offer sizing samples, which are worth investing in if you're making a bulk order.
How to Avoid: Different sports require different fabric types for optimal performance and comfort. Whether you need moisture-wicking materials for a soccer team or a breathable mesh for a cycling club, make sure to choose the fabric that suits your specific needs. Usually, product descriptions will give you this information.
How to Avoid: Custom jerseys are a representation of your team’s identity, so don’t rush through the design process. Double-check color combinations, logo placements, and any text you include. If your provider offers a digital mock-up or a sample, take the time to review it thoroughly before approving the design for production.
How to Avoid: Typos and grammatical errors can ruin the aesthetics of your jersey. Triple-check any names, numbers, or slogans you’ve included. Consider asking a second or third person to look over the details as well. Remember, once the design goes to print, corrections will often require a new order and additional costs.
How to Avoid: Custom orders often take time to produce, especially if you’re ordering in bulk. Additionally, there might be a queue, particularly during peak sports seasons. To ensure your jerseys arrive on time, plan your order well in advance. If you're in a rush, some companies do offer expedited services, but this often comes with a hefty price tag.
How to Avoid: Once your order is ready and placed, you'll often receive a confirmation email outlining the details. Use this as a final opportunity to double-check the information. Verify that the sizes, numbers, names, design specifics, and shipping details are correct. If you spot any errors, contact the company immediately to correct them before the order goes into production.
Ordering custom jerseys should be an exciting and fulfilling experience. By being meticulous and avoiding these common mistakes, you can ensure a smooth process from start to finish. Remember, the devil is in the details, but a little extra time and attention can make all the difference in getting your custom jerseys just right. So go ahead, place that order, and let your team spirit shine!
]]>Sublimation is a heat-powered digital printing approach where the ink transitions from a solid to a vapor state, infiltrating the fabric. The design journey begins on our computer, passing to the printer and eliminating the necessity for screens. Our printers are proficient in reproducing any color spectrum in a single operation. Following printing, we proceed to cut and sew the fabric into your bespoke uniform or jersey.
On the other hand, screen printing operates differently. Each color within your design demands its distinct custom screen, precisely as it sounds. These screens possess a fine mesh that aligns with your design, allowing ink to pass onto the fabric. The screen is placed above the fabric, secured, and a squeegee is then guided over the screen top, transferring the ink onto your clothing item. This process repeats for every color until your project reaches completion.
Sublimation printing is exclusive to polyester fabrics. Luckily, our extensive array of fabric options, from lightweight basketball jersey materials to sweat-absorbing tee shirt fabrics and flexible football uniform fabrics, ensures we've got you covered. We prioritize fabrics that are soft and cozy, facilitating day-long wear. With sublimation printing, the fabric is wholly dyed, as the ink permeates the entire fiber.
Contrastingly, screen printing accommodates nearly every fabric type. However, unlike sublimation, the ink merely rests atop the fabric, rather than saturating it.
Sublimation printing is renowned for its affordability, offering extensive customization possibilities and low order requirements. Irrespective of your chosen color quantity, there's no additional charge.
Screen printing, conversely, typically becomes costly for smaller batches due to labor and setup fees. Each additional color within your design accrues extra costs, although, screen printing does become more cost-efficient with larger quantities.
Most of our clientele lean towards sublimation as their preferred choice. It offers unlimited, vibrant colors, comfortable and resilient fabrics, and cost-effectiveness without necessitating large quantity orders.

At CustomJerseys.com, we pride ourselves on offering the innovative sublimation printing technique for all our sports apparel. As active sports enthusiasts, we personally vouch for this printing method—it's economical, highly customizable, and retains its vibrant colors even after numerous wash cycles.
Sublimation printing employs a heat-assisted digital process that imprints your design onto the fabric, resulting in eye-catching, enduring colors that resist wearing out.
Here's why sublimation printing could be your ideal choice for sportswear and uniforms:
With our skilled in-house design team, we can bring any design or pattern you envision to life on your uniforms, often without any extra cost. We generally charge a design fee only for intricate orders, so the majority of our customers enjoy this service at no additional expense.
Whether you need a sponsor’s logo, your team name, or individual player’s names on the jerseys, consider it done. Our design experts ensure each piece looks professional and appealing.
Unlike screen printing, which requires a separate screen for each color and consequently large order quantities, sublimation printing transfers images directly from our computer to our printer and heat press machines. This flexibility allows us to manage low volume orders as well. So, if you need just five or six shirts, we've got you covered—no need to buy extras just to meet a minimum order quantity.
From exposure to sweat, grass, and mud, to enduring numerous wash cycles, sportswear goes through quite a lot. But with sublimation printing, you can rest assured that your sportswear will remain vibrant well past the season's end. This process turns the ink into a vapor that integrates deeply with the fabric, ensuring longevity.
Our sublimation-printed sportswear uses fabrics that provide comfort and practicality for sports enthusiasts. We offer a wide range of fabric types and weights, tailored to your specific needs and sport. Many of our fabrics feature sweat-wicking technology, helping you stay cool and dry during even the most intense matches.

]]>As an innovative printing method, sublimation printing is quickly becoming a favorite due to its superior quality and endless customization possibilities. But you might be wondering, what really is sublimation printing?
Allow us to unveil the process for you.
Sublimation printing is a digital printing technique that utilizes heat. Your unique design, transferred from our computer to our printers, is imprinted onto the fabric using a specialized heat-based process.
Don't confuse this with the printing performed by your typical office printer, which merely sprays ink onto the paper, dot by dot, effectively coloring only the paper's top layer. Nor is it the same as screen printing, where ink is manually applied to the fabric, screen by screen, using squeegees.
Sublimation printing takes a unique approach. The solid ink is transformed into a vapor through heat, which then permeates throughout the fabric. This means your design becomes an integral part of the fabric, ensuring a much more durable and long-lasting result than other printing methods. The image melds seamlessly with the fabric fibers, reducing the likelihood of fading or washing out over time. It's important to note that sublimation printing requires a polyester fabric. We offer an array of fabric options, from lightweight basketball jersey materials to moisture-wicking T-shirt fabrics to stretchy football uniform fabrics.
With its unique process, sublimation printing allows us to bring your ideas and images to life in a way no other printing method can.

]]>We understand you better than anyone else—we're just as passionate about hockey. And we also know how daunting it can be to bring everyone together each week, pay for ice time, and reach a consensus on new jerseys. Sometimes it feels tempting to just put the matter aside, show up, and enjoy the camaraderie over a pint (and of course, those glorious ginos and apples). But whether your crew is made up of beginners or skilled pros, there comes a time when a new uniform is no longer a luxury but a necessity. Here are some signs that you and your team might have arrived at this pivotal point.
We get it—you're more than just a group of friends with a shared hobby. You're a team. And teams need unity, especially in their attire. If your teammates can splurge $300 on a new hockey stick, chipping in for a fresh set of matching jerseys should be a no-brainer. Even if matching socks aren't a priority, having the same color jerseys will at least stop the unintended passes to the opposition. Plus, looking good equates to playing good, right? And who knows, with our range of stylish jerseys, your team could be the most well-dressed, even if the scoreboard doesn't always reflect it.
Did your team pioneer the black jersey trend in your league, but now it seems everyone is on the same bandwagon? Stop the confusion and stand out from the crowd with a unique color. Be daring and explore less common shades like vegas gold, lime green, sky blue, or even pink. If your team is organized enough (we salute you), consider getting home and away uniforms!
Let's be real, every team has a few. The ones whose reputation proceeds them. The so-called hacks, goons, the ones who are slightly too enthusiastic. But don’t worry, a new uniform and quick jersey number change can buy you a few weeks before everyone catches on again. It's a small trick, but you'll thank us later.
We all grow and change, and sometimes the jersey that once fit like a glove starts to feel a little tight. It's a part of life. But there's no need to squeeze into a small jersey and feel uncomfortable. Our wide range of sizes ensures that everyone on the team has a jersey that fits perfectly—no matter their size or shape. Because friends don't let friends wear tight jerseys on the ice.
It's okay to be a team that's struggling. What's important is the camaraderie and the cold ones after the game. But nothing can revitalize a team's spirit more than a fresh start with a new set of jerseys. A clean slate. A new logo, matching jerseys, and socks, stylish 3-color numbers—these can really boost the team's confidence and start the next season on the right foot.
So, make your choice today and browse our wide selection of team jerseys. Bring unity, style, and a fresh start to your team's next game. After all, you might not control the score, but you can control how good your team looks on the ice!
]]>To begin with, it is inaccurate to claim that baseball and softball are entirely distinct from each other, as they share significant similarities. It is crucial to recognize that there are certain key resemblances between the two sports.
One noteworthy similarity is that both sports are open to both males and females. While some individuals may assume that softball is exclusively for girls and women, this is not true.
Furthermore, the games themselves exhibit similarities. Both sports involve players who assume roles such as hitters, pitchers, basemen, and outfielders. Runners aim to navigate around three bases in an attempt to reach home plate. However, these resemblances are largely limited to these aspects.
In conclusion, although there are several similarities between baseball and softball, it is important to acknowledge that they also have notable differences.

While exploring various options for team uniforms, you may come across the term "sublimated baseball jerseys." This might leave you wondering about the meaning of "sublimation" and whether there are any advantages to choosing sublimated baseball jerseys for your team this year. Allow us to provide some insights.
Sublimation is a manufacturing process in which the entire design of the uniform, including team logos, player numbers, and additional details, is directly infused into the fabric. It starts with a digital design created on a graphic design app, which is then printed in life size on paper using large-scale printers. The printed design is then transferred onto the fabric at a high temperature, turning it into a gas that bonds with the fabric molecules. Finally, the fabric panels are stitched together to create the finished baseball jersey.
Opting for sublimated baseball jerseys offers several benefits compared to alternative methods like screen printing and embroidery. The key advantage lies in the quality and durability of the design. With sublimated jerseys, the logos, numbers, stripes, and player names won't crack, fade, or wear out over time. In contrast, other types of uniforms have designs that rest on top of the fabric and may eventually peel or crack with wear.
In addition to durability, sublimated baseball jerseys provide a superior feel and performance. Since the design is infused into the fabric, the jerseys are more comfortable to wear and offer better mobility. Designs that sit on top of the fabric can impede movement or cause discomfort.
These reasons contribute to why many teams prefer sublimated baseball jerseys over other options. At Custom Jersey, we specialize in providing custom baseball uniforms, including sublimated jerseys. If you have any questions about different types of youth baseball uniforms, our team is here to assist you. We take pride in delivering premier uniforms on time for game time and collaborate with youth baseball leagues nationwide.
]]>We've got a lineup of 8 unique league-style jerseys, and we're here to help you understand the nuances between them. Let's take it from the top.
Our H6400 jersey is a crowd favorite, winning hearts with its timeless 2-color striping and budget-friendly price tag. Made of midweight air-knit polyester, similar to our practice jerseys, the H6400 offers a good-looking, lightweight jersey that won't break the bank. It's ideal for beer leagues and rec leagues. However, if you're in the market for maximum durability, you might want to consider our higher-end options.
The H6500 shares similar weight and design characteristics with the H6400 but takes the style quotient up a notch with a third color in a classic Chicago style striping. It's a great bang-for-your-buck jersey, but it may not be the best fit for full-contact hockey or frequent games/practices every week due to its weight.
The H6600 is yet another midweight jersey offering, with durability on par with the H6400 and H6500. However, it stands out with a more modern design, akin to the Ottawa Senators' style NHL jerseys. If you're after something more robust, you might want to continue reading.
The H7100 might not win the beauty contest, but it packs a punch in terms of quality, stepping up from the H6400, H6500, and H6600 uniforms. It features heavyweight air-knit material for the body and sleeves, with heavyweight mesh inserts on the sides and underarms for increased durability and breathability. This jersey is a smart pick for competitive teams that require a durable jersey for regular practices or men's leagues not keen on buying new jerseys frequently.
With the H7500, you get the best of both worlds - style and strength. This jersey is a blend of heavy-duty air-knit fabric, bold striping, and contrasting shoulders with piping. Its popularity extends to youth and adult teams alike, and its single-layer shoulders and elbows keep the jersey comfortably lightweight.
The H7400 boasts the same heavy-duty fabric as the H7500, but steps up with double-reinforced shoulders and elbows, topped off with a modern look. This jersey, inspired by the Minnesota Wild's Stadium Series jerseys, offers premium quality in a trendy design, all at a fair price.
The H7600 is another heavy-duty jersey featuring double-reinforced shoulders and elbows. It takes design cues from the OHL's Peterborough Pete's jerseys, showcasing a clean, sleek look in a two-color design. It's the go-to choice for teams seeking a blend of quality and simplicity.
The H7000 is a real deal-breaker! With specs matching our Los Angeles Kings style NHL jerseys, it offers top-notch quality without hurting your wallet. This jersey boasts a heavyweight fabric, double-reinforced shoulders and elbows, mesh underarm inserts, and sewn-in body, sleeve, and hem striping. It's the ultimate trifecta of quality, durability, and affordability!

Selecting a jersey style can be challenging. It can be difficult to move forward when different members of the team have different preferences. For example, Bob might want Chicago-style jerseys because that's his favorite team, while Jim is from St. Louis and hates the Blackhawks. Sully likes Boston, but Pierre insists on Canadiens sweaters. If this sounds familiar, a generic league-style jersey might be the best option. Many high-quality styles are available in popular "team" colors without being associated with any particular NHL team. Visit the League Style Jerseys page to view the many options available in traditional team colors, as well as unique offerings like Vegas Gold, Pro Blue, and Lime Green.
Another challenging aspect of ordering uniforms is choosing customization options. Screen print, sewn twill, sleeve numbers, and player names are just a few of the many choices available. Setting a budget and sticking to it can make the process much easier. There is a significant price difference between different printing options, so once you've selected your jersey style, the rest should be easy. To maximize the value to your team, make a list of the "need to haves" vs. the "nice to haves" for your uniforms. Does your league require sleeve numbers and player names on your jerseys? If not, perhaps skip those extras and select higher quality printing or multi-color logos and numbers for your jerseys, which will certainly make everyone happier in the long run. Remember to send us your artwork and logos in vector format.
Obviously, anything "custom" is gonna take a bit of time to make.
Think about it - jerseys with stitched logos and numbers need some time to put together for a bunch of reasons like getting the logo artwork ready for printing, cutting and printing twill crests, numbers, and nameplates, and then the whole process of sewing all that stuff onto the jerseys. In the off-season (November to July), our jerseys with sewn-on decorations usually ship in about 3 weeks, while during busy times (August to October), it can take 4 to 5 weeks.
If you're in a hurry and need your jerseys faster than that, go for screen-printed ones. Jerseys with all screen-printed customizations are generally ready to ship 1 to 2 weeks quicker than those with sewn twill.
For those teams who needed their jerseys like, yesterday, and want the fastest option, we recommend buying blank uniforms from CustomJersey.com and having a local printer or pro shop customize them real quick. All the styles you see here come as blanks and usually ship the next business day after you order, with delivery to most of the contiguous U.S. in just 2 to 3 business days. And if that's still not speedy enough, you can choose express shipping for your blank jerseys and get them the very next day if you order early enough.

When it comes to supporting your favorite team or showcasing your own team's identity, custom jerseys are a must-have. With a vast array of affordable options, top-notch customer service, and quality you can trust, there's never been a better time to invest in custom sports jerseys and apparel. In this blog post, we'll dive into the world of custom jerseys, exploring how they can enhance your sports experience, and why you should consider ordering from a reputable source.
Custom jerseys aren't just for the pros. They're for anyone who wants to wear their team's colors proudly or create a sense of unity among their own sports team. Whether you're a dedicated sports fan or a weekend warrior, custom sports jerseys and apparel offer numerous benefits:
Stand Out from the Crowd: With custom jerseys, you can design your unique look or replicate your favorite team's colors and logos. This lets you make a statement, showcase your team pride, and stand out from the sea of generic sports apparel.
Unity and Team Spirit: Custom jerseys help build camaraderie and foster a sense of belonging among teammates. When everyone's wearing the same custom gear, it's easier to feel connected and motivated to work together toward a common goal.
Durability and Comfort: Quality custom jerseys and apparel are made from materials designed to last, offering comfort and durability for years to come. Investing in good quality products means you'll spend less on replacements and enjoy a better overall experience.
One of the primary concerns people have when considering custom jerseys is the cost. However, it's essential to understand that affordable options are available without compromising on quality. By choosing a reliable provider of custom sports jerseys and apparel, you'll get the best of both worlds - a great-looking product at a price that won't break the bank.
When looking for an affordable custom jersey provider, consider the following factors:
Bulk Discounts: Many companies offer discounts for large orders, making it more cost-effective to outfit an entire team or group of fans.
Material Options: Different materials come at different price points. By selecting a material that fits your budget, you can still get a quality product without overspending.
Design Flexibility: Some custom jersey providers offer various design options to suit different budgets. From simple screen-printed logos to more elaborate embroidery, you can choose a design that fits your needs and your wallet.
Great Customer Service: Making the Process Smooth and Hassle-Free
When ordering custom jerseys, great customer service is a must. A reputable provider will guide you through the process, ensuring you receive a product that meets your expectations. Look for a company that offers:
Design Assistance: A good custom jersey provider will help you with design choices, making sure your team's colors and logos are accurately represented.
Size and Fit Guidance: Sizing can be tricky, especially when ordering for a group. A reputable company will offer sizing charts and guidance to help you choose the best fit for everyone.
Order Tracking and Updates: You should be able to track your order's progress, and the company should provide updates on production and shipping times.
Responsive Customer Support: Should any issues arise, you want a company that's easy to reach and quick to respond. Excellent customer service means addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a positive experience throughout the process.
When you win as much as Bill Belichick, you can start dressing like Bill Belichick. Until then, sports team coaches should dress like the professionals they are.
]]>Basketball jerseys were making fashion statements long before other sports caught on. In the early 2000s, jet black was the go-to look for third jerseys.
In the next decade, cool grays and silvers caught on. Some schools that were already undergoing a rebrand included gray or black into their new palette specifically to keep doors open for future alternate jerseys. Arizona State University ensured their new color linked to the identity of the school: instead of gray, they had "anthracite," harking to the state's mining history.
Hues of black and gray are timeless, even if one is currently more popular than the other. They might not be the most trendy look, but they'll never be out of place.
A light gray can also seamlessly slot in as a home jersey by meeting league requirements for the home team to wear a lighter color jersey than the away team. Check your league's guidelines to ensure you don't need to wear white for your home games, and maybe your alternate jersey can have a few turns as your starter.
Most hockey jerseys have the team's mascot on the front. Some NHL teams kept their color scheme the same but switched out the logo for their alternate jerseys.
The Boston Bruins replaced the iconic "B" with a bear in several iterations of their alternate jerseys. The Detroit Red Wings went in the opposite direction for one season, replacing their winged wheel logo with a simple "D."
Less simply and less iconic, the Anaheim Ducks spent one regrettable season with an angrily cartoonish duck on the front of their sweater, just in case anybody forgot that they are the only professional team named after a kids' team in a Disney movie.
The Colorado Avalanche had a third jersey that was an homage to Colorado's first professional hockey team, the Rockies (back before the Rockies were the baseball team). That uniform adapted the Rockies' logo for the prime real estate on the front of the sweater.
Look for opportunities to connect your school's history or your town to your alternate jersey. Even if you're the Skyhawks or Tigers, if your town has a prominent lighthouse or is famous for its railroad history, put the lighthouse or a locomotive on the jersey. Or go back-to-basics and make your alternate jersey a full throwback, or one that places your team's former logo onto a white or gray uniform.
Or, if your mascot is a very stylized character, simplify it down to its essence. Instead of Reggie the Bulldog, just show a bulldog. Give your fearsome Viking a few weeks off by replacing him with a V, a Viking ship or just the silhouette of a helmeted warrior.
Your school's color palette probably has colors the team isn't using. Now is your chance to use them all. A simple way to do this is to switch your uniform's primary colors with your accent colors. If your uniforms are currently red and white with blue stripes, make your alternate jerseys a bold blue with red and white trim.
Two words: Oregon Ducks. Two more: Baylor Bears. Yes, some of their uniforms are over the top. Yes, we may look back on them with regret, like those Anaheim Ducks jerseys. But no one will ever walk past a game and not know whose playing.
Make your colors as bombastic as possible. Red becomes candy apple Corvette red. Green becomes metallic green. Your accent colors are so strong that they even accent the loudest uniforms in the conference.
And if your mascot has a distinctive color scheme, go all the way with it. If you're the Tigers, take your cue from Hull City FC in England make your jerseys and soccer socks orange-and-black striped. If your colors are normally staid and traditional, like royal blue and white, make your alternate jersey a bright gold or canary yellow: colors that complement your regular palette but have never been seen around your arena.
If you're unsure this is the direction you want to go in, give us a call or send us an e-mail and we'll walk you through the process. We've worked with hundreds of teams and have looked at thousands more uniforms, so we can tell you who else has done something similar and help you take the next step.
Certain letters and certain sports lend themselves to a crossover. This can be a great way to not only inject some detail into a uniform, but to allow each team at your school to have something uniquely their own in the jersey.
If your team is the Redbirds, dot the “i” with your sport’s ball. The school will have a unified look with the same mascot, logo and colors, but the baseball team will have a baseball on their jersey; the tennis team will have a tennis ball on their warmups; the soccer team, likewise. Hockey? Put on a puck over that “i!”
Football? OK, maybe find a different detail for them.
Other ways letters and sports can combine: hockey sticks and baseball bats can cross the “t’s,” or can be crossed themselves to make an X. Hockey sticks can also be used as an underline beneath the team name.
When art designers develop a color palette for a brand, they usually include one or two accent colors. These are very strong, usually bright colors that are to be used sparingly, even rarely, because when you do use them, they draw the eye. That makes them perfect for parts of the uniform that are already small and space-limited.
For example, if your team’s colors are black and orange, sky blue or teal would be a perfect accent as a stripe on the cuffs of the sleeves or the collar. Hockey jerseys that have laces at the neck are another great opportunity for accents, especially on away jerseys: the body of the jersey is in your main dark color (since white is reserved for the home team), so you can make the collar an accent color and keep the laces plain white. The white - against, say, a red or dark blue background - becomes another accent next to a bright yellow or gold collar.
By using them on part of the uniform that’s out of the way and doesn’t give you much room to work with, you can ensure they remain accents.
Anything that you can design on Photoshop can be printed exactly as-is using dye sublimation. Go ahead and push the limits when designing custom sports jerseys by fading one color into another, using shadow effects or drawing sharp boundaries for stripes, chevrons or patterns.
Take your logo or a famous landmark from your town, for example, and fade it in a dark gray or a darker version of your primary color. For example, if your soccer jerseys are going to be royal blue, fade your logo down to 30-50% saturation in a navy blue. From a distance, it might not even be noticeable. When you get closer, you realize that the jerseys are more than just blue. When you get up close, everyone will pay attention to your attention to detail.
The more you get to know sports uniforms, the more you realize that they are not uniform from one team to the next, let alone across sports. We mentioned earlier the option of having laces on the neck of a hockey jersey. If you don’t want laces, do you want a V-neck, crew neck or wide pseudo-V-neck? How will the shape affect your ideas on colors?
If you’re designing baseball uniforms, your choice of pant length will determine how important the detail on the socks are.
Basketball uniforms seem easy, right? They’re just tank tops? Nope. You’ll get to design the trim around the neck, the arm cutouts and the side panels beneath the arm cutouts. And then do it again for the shorts!
Each decision brings a different assortment of options to customize. It seems like a lot, but like anything else to do with sports, once you get started you’ll love discovering the details and nuances that make it all so great.
And like sports, you don’t have to do this alone. You have a team behind you: us! Let us know where you’re having difficulties, what’s on your mind and what we offer so you can design jerseys that are professional in every detail.
Many people and quite a few sports teams made some regrettable fashion decisions in the 90s. Colors weren’t just loud - they were screaming at you. Logos went beyond bold and brash, and got up in your face. Some teams even have changed their team colors or logo, discarding history for a passing trend.
We could get away with it then - everyone was doing it. But now, some professional and school teams have uniforms that need to be modernized.
Sometimes the best way to update your team’s look is to go back - back in team history and just back to basics. Here are a few pro teams that show how you can design a new look for your team’s jerseys by going back to a simpler time of classic tastes.
Chelsea Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in the English Premier League. The 2019/20 season was the 50th anniversary of their first victory in the FA Cup, the oldest soccer tournament in the world.
For Chelsea’s early rounds of the 2019/20 FA Cup, they wore a uniform that recalled that early triumph. The jerseys were simply blue: no stripes, no patterning, no subtle designs or trim. Just royal blue with an embroidered yellow lion, the club’s century-old logo. The players’ numbers, the trim on the shorts and their socks were yellow. Two colors - that’s it.
If your team’s uniforms seem to “busy,” go back to basics. All the way back. Back to when teams like Chelsea were named after their primary color: the Blues.
Particularly for sports that thrive on tradition like soccer, baseball, tennis and cross country, a single-color uniform with minimal secondary coloring as a trim on the socks and shorts is a way to unclutter your uniforms while locking in on your team’s brand and identity.
Every school’s gym and stadium have banners and boards that list the team’s championship seasons. People can see at a glance how many titles you’ve won in each sport, and find those years when you built a dynasty.
What were the teams wearing when they hit those heights? Connect your team to their heritage of success by designing uniforms that pay tribute to those worn in the earlier title-winning days.
The Cleveland Browns have not had much winning to celebrate in recent decades. But the team and the community still take a lot of pride in their history. With their new uniforms, the year “1946” is stitched into the inside of the collar, marking the year the team was founded. The name “Browns” was removed from the front of the jersey, as the colors of the uniform and helmet are unmistakable on their own. And the stripes on the sleeves are a return to those from the mid-2000s.
Find a part of your school’s history that your team will want to connect to. Pull out the old yearbooks and see what the team was wearing then. Choose the best elements from those uniforms - maybe combine some ideas from two periods of success - add a simple, subtle touch like the year of your school’s founding or maybe the year of your first state championship, and you’ll have a truly timeless look.
Sometimes, sports uniforms just need a full reset. Shortly after their 25-year anniversary, the Buffalo Sabres hockey team started introducing new colors and new logos. Things got pretty bleak, as fans wondered how a blue-and-yellow team became a red-and-black team and then went back to blue (but a different blue) but with a logo some people called “the Slug.”
Coming off of their 50th season, the Sabres are righting all the wrongs by going back to those original uniforms that served them so well.
The Sabres are not just going for the broad strokes of a retro look. They are at the level of getting the exact hue right: the new uniforms will be royal blue, not navy blue. Buffalo hockey fans could barely be happier.
If you look at your school’s uniforms and can’t do much more than shake your head and say “How did this happen? Who let this happen?” then maybe it’s time just to pretend like it never did happen. Take the pressure of yourself to design something new by going back to what things were like before they went wrong. Maybe that’s a simpler look, maybe it’s a less comic book-looking logo or maybe it’s restoring the original, proper color palette.
Bonus points: Your student-athletes may not even know that it is a “retro” look, and they’ll think they are blazing new ground.
Need help? Have some yearbook pictures but need to see something real before you commit to a new design? Let us know. We’ll work with you at every step of the design process to make sure the colors, logos, trim and detail are all exactly right. Our team will match the right technologies to the design and the sport, so the next few generations of teams will all be proud to wear their school colors.
Face masks are functional before anything else, which is why most of them are drab grays, black or maybe that surgical scrub blue. Not exactly what anyone wants to be wearing to school, let alone when they’re trying to get themselves or their friends pumped up for a game.
Customize your team’s face masks in the school’s colors. Take a look at the teams’ jerseys and see what patterns are used, where the accent colors show up and how the colors reflect the brand. Then match that on the masks.
If the school colors are yellow and black and the football jerseys are either black with yellow stripes or white with black and yellow stripes, do the same on the masks. You could even make home and away masks to match the home and away jerseys. That way your travelling fans (not to mention the drumline, athletic trainers and team staff) look the part, and better than the opponent.
Many professional teams are back in action, and their face masks are usually simple affairs: the main team color with the team logo or crest on it.
You can take this “up-market” route, which may appeal more to your coaches and staff who’d rather not go all-in on a fashion statement. A simple mark of team identity, like they already have on their polo shirts and windbreakers, could be enough for them.
Do all the other schools in your district fear the Bulldogs, Hornets or Spartans? Don’t give them a moment’s rest. Every time they look over at your sidelines or student section, they should be reminded of how dominant, aggressive and passionate your team is.
If your team mascot is an animal, put that animal’s growling face, bared teeth or razor-sharp beak right on the mask. If your mascot carries a sword, put one on either side of the face mask. Maybe your mascot is an eagle in full flight? Each mask can show it coming for the opponent.
The most intimidating part of a stadium for the visiting team is the student section. Some are walls of noise, others of team colors. Basketball fans, in particular, use color, noise and motion to try to get in the heads of opponents taking free throws. Build on that by making the visiting team face a wall of your school’s loudest students, all looking the part.
Any design you have in mind, we can do it. The dye sublimation process makes it easy for us to precisely customize any item. Dye sublimation also has no additional charges for fill-in orders. Once the design is set up, it’s just as easy to make 1 more or a 1000 more. So, if we’re still wearing masks during the winter or spring sport seasons, you can order another round at a low price.
Back-to-school is stressful enough, especially when you might not know if your students are going back to school. If you need any help coming up with the best design for your sports team’s custom face masks, please give us a call and we’ll make it as easy as possible. This is what we do!
We’ll work with you to get the design exactly right, and will send you a mock-up so you can see what the actual product will look like before you commit to a full order.
Many more people wear baseball caps than have ever played baseball. Your players will probably spend more time wearing ball caps away from the diamond than they will on it.
If you create a smart design for your team’s caps, they might want two: one for games, and one for the rest of their day.
The guidelines for custom baseball jerseys permit the use of embroidered caps, so jersey makers can get innovative with the design on caps within the boundaries of what their league allows.
Caps are not “officially” required, but without them, what would you turn around to start a rally late in the game?
This is where you can do the most with your design. Jerseys have a lot of space and the guidelines let designers do just about anything with it. One requirement is that the sleeves are hemmed and are the same length (that is, all short-sleeve or all long-sleeve) for every player on the team.
One- or two-thread embroidering will work for the players’ numbers and names. With one thread embroidery, the player’s name and number are in a single-color that stands out against the jersey’s base color. In two-thread designs, there is a proper border around the name and number.
Depending on where you are located and how long your season is, the jacket may be more or less important. If the temperatures get a little low and you have the budget for it, invest in extra warmth during pre- and post-game warmups and on the bench. If nothing else, your pitchers will appreciate it.
Because jackets are not allowed on the field of play, many leagues will have minimal regulations about their design, but still check the guidelines for any curveballs.
Pants are generally plain with two pockets and belt loops. Some teams go for contrasting piping on the sides of the legs.
As for decorations, you can use twill, embroidery, or printing to add a logo, but baseball pants are usually simple. Shorts are also available, if your league allows them and you want the option.
Don’t balk just because fewer teams are wearing the old-school knee-length stirrup socks. That style is not as popular now, as full-length pants have become the norm. But socks are still in demand for baseball players, as they are for any athlete. Socks are part of the required kit, so it makes sense to make them part of the uniform.
More often than not, baseball players wear socks that do not have a pattern. They usually have one or two colors, and some will have a logo.
If your team is counting on you to design a new baseball uniform ahead of opening day, we have you covered from cap to socks so you don’t go down swinging. We’re ready to step up to the plate and knock your uniforms out of the park.
Spend enough time around a hockey rink and you’re bound to hear some old-timers call a hockey jersey a “sweater.” The term has survived even though jerseys are no longer heavy wool garments designed for playing outside on frozen ponds for hours at a time.
Along with the name, some features of those old-time hockey sweaters have made their way into our modern jerseys, especially for teams looking for an old-school vintage look. Here are a few details you’ll have to decide on when designing custom hockey jerseys for your team.
We know hockey players take the laces on their skates very seriously, but the laces on their jerseys?
Neck laces are purely aesthetic now, but in the days of actual hockey sweaters they had a function: giving the player enough of a neck opening to pull the sweater over whatever other layers and primitive protective equipment they were wearing, but then allowing them to tighten up the neck to help them stay warm.
These days, hockey jerseys are built to dissipate heat rather than trap it. Hockey jerseys are made of performance fabrics, just as any other sport jerseys are. If players need to stay warm, they can wear performance undershirts to keep heat in, while the jersey is breathable and loose to allow for easy movement and moisture removal. Players don’t need neck laces or any other features to insulate themselves, but the neck laces do give them a look that harkens back to the days of all guts, no glory pond hockey.
If you decide to customize your hockey jerseys with neck laces, one follow-on decision you’ll have is what color laces to use. Some teams have laces that are the same color as the neck trim, others that match the main body of the jersey and some will go for a contrast color. Be sure to check with your league’s uniform regulations to ensure that they do not have any rules against neck laces, or about the total number of colors you can have on a uniform.
The neck area offers a lot of opportunities to customize your hockey jerseys. In addition to neck laces, you can decide among several styles and color options.
Most hockey jerseys, with or without neck laces, come in a V-neck. Some recent National Hockey League jerseys (and a few soccer kits) have used a “squared V-neck,” which is like a hybrid of a crew neck and a V-neck, but these have not caught on widely and opinion among hockey fans - and hockey uniform fans - is mixed.
Trim, like the neck laces, is another opportunity to introduce an accenting contrast. The neck trim is usually one of the team’s primary colors, and contrasts with the main body of the jersey. The color of the neck trim is usually seen elsewhere on the jersey, such as stripes on the sleeve or the gussets under the arms.
This hockey jersey from Athletic Knit shows how the trim can be integrated with the rest of jersey, creating a continuous line of color from sleeve to sleeve while mirroring the colors and pattern at the bottom of the jersey.
The neck area of hockey jerseys can be accentuated even further with an underlay.
The underlay, as seen here in the Fitwell 900 Series jersey, gives the jersey a “shirt within a shirt” look. It contrasts the body of the jersey and often contrasts the neck trim. This means the neck area can represent the team’s entire color palette.
